My packaging labels for Burlap & Barrel were featured in the New York Times, Epicurious, America’s Test Kitchen, and more!
Burlap & Barrel is a developing direct-trade spice import and distribution company. Unique spices will be sourced directly from farmers in developing countries, including Tanzania, Afghanistan, and India. The social mission of this project is to provide farmers with a larger share of the value of the crops they are growing, eventually allowing them access to agricultural experts to help improve their farms, access small business loans, and help them grow.
I created this brand identity based on the values of the project. The line pattern in the logo represents the hands of the hardworking farmers, the crop rows in which they work, and the weave of the burlap used to carry the fruits of their labor.
